Ian's aim is to assist you to develop a connected, calm and consistent level of communication with your horse so that you can learn to have fun and enjoy working with and handling horses; and learn to work safely around horses.
Ian has been invited to be an Educator at Equitana. He will be presenting on Saturday 16th November 2024 in the Ariat Theatrette at 2.45 p.m. talking about "The Road to Rehab".
Ian's philosophy...
Ian Shaw has had a lifelong association with horses and over the last 10 years has focussed on and developed a keen interest in exploring the 'Horse-Human' connection. While drawing on his own experiences, Ian’s philosophy has been greatly influenced by many of the world’s best trainers, with whom he has studied - people who also believe that education and training begins with developing a strong positive relationship with your horse.
Ian’s motto is
“Calm, consistent communication builds confidence; and confidence builds connection”.
Ian says, “Encourage your horse to find the answer while quietly waiting for it to explore options. Listen to your horse rather than making it do what you want.”
